Training for the Survey
Experts from Europe have been training students from Hue to conduct a survey. The experts are from Potsdam University in Germany and Amsterdam University and they have been training 18 enumerators for the project “Enhancing Flood Resilience in Urban and Coastal Areas in Thua Thien Hue Province” from 16th – 18th of August 2017.
The students are mainly from the Department of Geography,Hue University, College of Sciences.
A lot of knowledge has been shared by the experts, and the enumerators have also tested new and contemporary investigative methods and have collected a lot of important information about the community.



This survey is part of a project that focuses on the benefits of ecosystem based adaptation (EbA) to flood risk in relation to the ponds in The Citadel in Hue city, and the mangroves in Tam Giang Lagoon. This project is a partnership between CSRD and the universities of Potsdam (Germany) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In addition to this survey the project also intends to plant new areas of mangroves and to restore ponds in The Citadel area. It will also organise activities to raise awareness through workshops in collaboration with local bodies such as the Women’s Union.
